Ingredients

  • 1 large onion
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Peel the onion and cut off the top, leaving the root intact.
  2. Make 12-16 cuts in the onion, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Dip the onion in buttermilk, then coat it in the flour mixture.
  5. Spray the onion with cooking spray and coat it with breadcrumbs.
  6. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  7. Place the onion in the air fryer basket and cook for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
