Ingredients

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour, salt, pepper, and paprika until smooth.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, cooking until the mixture thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in 3 cups of cheese until melted.
  6. Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni and mix well.
  7. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and top with remaining cheese and breadcrumbs.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
