Delicious baked apple fritters that are soft, sweet, and glazed, perfect for a fall dessert.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups peeled and diced apples
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and granulated sugar.
- In another bowl, mix the milk, applesauce, and egg until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the diced apples.
- Scoop the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, forming fritters.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- While the fritters are baking, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
- Once the fritters are done, drizzle the glaze over them while they are still warm.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the wet ingredients.
- These fritters can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Feel free to substitute the apples with other fruits like pears or peaches.
