Description

A quick and delicious recipe for beef with broccoli that rivals takeout, ready in just 20 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the marinated beef to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the remaining oil, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds.
  5. Add the broccoli and beef broth, cover, and steam for 2-3 minutes until the broccoli is tender.
  6. Return the beef to the skillet, stir to combine, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  7. Serve over cooked rice.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes.
  • Feel free to substitute chicken or tofu for the beef.
  • Make sure not to overcook the broccoli to retain its crunch.
