- 1 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast, let it sit for 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- In another bowl, mix cream cheese, blueberries, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the cream cheese mixture over it, and roll it up tightly.
- Twist the rolled dough and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Let it rise again for 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- For a sweeter babka, add more sugar to the cream cheese mixture.
- Ensure the blueberries are evenly distributed to avoid sogginess.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
