- 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into rectangles and place half of them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread a layer of fruit preserves on each rectangle on the baking sheet.
- Top with another rectangle of dough and seal the edges with a fork.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool before icing with a mixture of powdered sugar and milk.
