Ingredients

  • 2 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1 cup cooked taco meat (beef, chicken, or turkey)
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (for serving)
  • 1/4 cup salsa (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Place one tortilla in the skillet and sprinkle half of the cheese evenly over it.
  3. Add the cooked taco meat, diced tomatoes, and jalapeños on top of the cheese.
  4. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the toppings and cover with the second tortilla.
  5. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the bottom tortilla is golden brown and the cheese starts to melt.
  6. Carefully flip the quesadilla and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the other side is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
  7. Remove from the skillet, cut into wedges, and serve with sour cream and salsa.
