Description

A simple and delicious copycat recipe for Chick Fil A’s famous mac and cheese, perfect for enjoying at home.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute until bubbly.
  4. Gradually add the milk, whisking constantly until the mixture thickens.
  5. Stir in the cream cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Add the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses, stirring until fully melted.
  7. Mix in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  8. Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well combined.
  9. Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.

Notes

  • For a crispy topping, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top before baking.
