Description

Coquito is a traditional Puerto Rican holiday drink that is a creamy, coconut-based eggnog, perfect for festive celebrations.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup white rum
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine coconut milk, evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, white rum, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg.
  2. Blend until smooth and well combined.
  3. If desired, add shredded coconut and pulse a few times to incorporate.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice as needed.
  5. Pour the mixture into a bottle or jar and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  6. Serve chilled, garnished with a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg if desired.

Notes

  • Coquito can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the rum.
