Description

A warm and comforting sandwich featuring corned beef, cabbage, and melted cheese, perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of rye bread
  • 4 oz corned beef
  • 1/2 cup sauerkraut
  • 2 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Butter one side of each slice of rye bread.
  2. Layer corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese between the unbuttered sides of the bread.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwich in the skillet, buttered side down.
  4. Cook until the bread is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Flip the sandwich and cook the other side until golden and the cheese is melted, about another 3-4 minutes.
  6. Remove from skillet, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a dollop of mustard inside the sandwich.
  • Serve with a side of pickles for a classic pairing.
