Description

A warm and hearty chili made with sweet potatoes and turkey, perfect for chilly nights.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
  2. Add ground turkey to the pot, cooking until browned.
  3. Stir in diced sweet potatoes, black beans, diced tomatoes, chicken broth, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 25-30 minutes, or until sweet potatoes are tender.
  5. Adjust seasoning as needed and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a spicier chili, add diced jalapeños or cayenne pepper.
