Description

Delicious cranberry crumble bars made with browned butter blondie base, topped with a sweet crumble.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (for crumble)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for crumble)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for crumble)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, brown the butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the browned butter and brown sugar, mixing until smooth.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. Fold in the cranberries gently.
  8. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
  9. In a separate bowl, mix the crumble ingredients until crumbly and sprinkle over the batter.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • For a sweeter taste, add more sugar to the crumble topping.
  • These bars can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
  • Feel free to substitute cranberries with other berries if desired.
