Delicious cranberry crumble bars made with browned butter blondie base, topped with a sweet crumble.

- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (for crumble)
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for crumble)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for crumble)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- In a saucepan, brown the butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the browned butter and brown sugar, mixing until smooth.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the cranberries gently.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
- In a separate bowl, mix the crumble ingredients until crumbly and sprinkle over the batter.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
Notes
- For a sweeter taste, add more sugar to the crumble topping.
- These bars can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
- Feel free to substitute cranberries with other berries if desired.
