- 3–4 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 8–10 crusty rolls
- Provolone or Swiss cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Place the beef chuck roast in the Crockpot.
- In a bowl, mix together the onion soup mix, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Pour the mixture over the roast in the Crockpot.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the meat is tender.
- Remove the roast from the Crockpot and shred the meat with two forks.
- Return the shredded meat to the Crockpot and stir to combine with the juices.
- Serve the meat on crusty rolls, topped with cheese if desired, and with a side of au jus for dipping.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add sliced onions and bell peppers to the Crockpot.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- This recipe can be easily doubled for larger gatherings.
