Ingredients

  • 4 cups of diced apples
  • 2 cups of granulated sugar
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup of unsalted butter
  • 1 package of fruit pectin

Instructions

  1. Prepare your jars and lids by sterilizing them in boiling water.
  2. In a large pot, combine diced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Cook over medium heat until the apples are soft, about 15 minutes.
  4. Add the butter and stir until melted.
  5. Stir in the fruit pectin and bring the mixture to a rolling boil.
  6. Boil for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  7. Remove from heat and ladle the jam into prepared jars.
  8. Seal the jars and process in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
  9. Let the jars cool completely before storing them in a cool, dark place.
