Description

A delicious and tender beef short ribs recipe cooked in a crockpot, perfect for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 4 lbs beef short ribs
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  1. Season the beef short ribs with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
  2. In a large skillet, sear the short ribs on all sides until browned.
  3. Transfer the short ribs to the crockpot.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until softened.
  5. Add the beef broth, red wine, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, thyme, and bay leaf to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  6. Pour the mixture over the short ribs in the crockpot.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the meat is tender and falls off the bone.
  8. Remove the short ribs and strain the sauce if desired. Serve the ribs with the sauce drizzled on top.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the short ribs overnight.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
