Description
Deliciously spooky cupcakes that look like they have been bitten by a vampire, complete with a gory surprise filling.

- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup raspberry jam
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- Red food coloring
- Chocolate syrup for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
- In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the cupcake liners, filling them about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.
- Once cooled, use a small knife to cut a circle in the center of each cupcake and remove the top.
- Fill the hole with raspberry jam to create the ‘blood’ effect.
- Replace the top of the cupcake and frost with buttercream icing.
- Drizzle chocolate syrup over the top for a gory effect.
- Optionally, add red food coloring to the frosting for a more dramatic look.
Notes
- For a more intense flavor, use homemade chocolate cake instead of a mix.
- Adjust the amount of raspberry jam based on your preference for sweetness.
- These cupcakes can be made a day in advance and stored in an airtight container.
