A delicious and upgraded version of the classic green bean casserole, perfect for holiday potlucks.

- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup crispy fried onions
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Blanch the green beans in boiling water for 3-4 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add the blanched green beans and half of the cheddar cheese to the mixture, stirring until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with the remaining cheddar cheese and crispy fried onions.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown on top.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a healthier version, you can use low-fat sour cream.
- Feel free to add cooked bacon or mushrooms for extra flavor.
- This dish can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving.
