A simple and easy recipe to make traditional Turkish Delight at home.
Ingredients

- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon rosewater or orange blossom water
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine sugar and water. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
- In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch, lemon juice, and cream of tartar with 1 cup of water until smooth.
- Slowly add the cornstarch mixture to the sugar syrup, stirring constantly.
- Cook the mixture over low heat, stirring continuously until it thickens and turns a golden color.
- Remove from heat and stir in rosewater or orange blossom water.
- Pour the mixture into a greased pan and let it cool for several hours or overnight.
- Once set, cut into squares and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- Make sure to stir continuously to prevent burning.
- Adjust the flavoring to your preference.
- Store in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
