Description

A rich and moist pumpkin bread topped with a luscious salted maple brown butter glaze, perfect for fall or any time you crave a sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree, melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, spices, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in walnuts if using.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. While the bread is baking, prepare the salted maple brown butter glaze.
  9. In a small saucepan, melt 1/2 cup of butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma. Remove from heat and stir in maple syrup and salt.
  10. Once the bread is done, let it cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring it to a wire rack.
  11. Drizzle the glaze over the warm bread before serving.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • This bread can be frozen for up to 3 months; wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and foil.
  • For a richer flavor, let the glaze cool slightly before drizzling it over the bread.
