Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk and vanilla extract.
  6. Fold in the sliced apples gently.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. While the cake is baking, prepare the custard sauce.
  10. Serve the cake warm with custard sauce drizzled on top.
