Ingredients

  • Fresh figs – 2 pounds
  • Sugar – 1 cup
  • Fresh lemon juice – 1/4 cup
  • Water – 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Wash the figs thoroughly and remove the stems.
  2. Chop the figs into small pieces and place them in a large pot.
  3. Add sugar, lemon juice, and water to the pot.
  4. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Check the consistency; it should be thick and spreadable.
  7. Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars and seal them tightly.
  8. Let the jars cool to room temperature before storing them in the refrigerator.
