Description

A classic Southern recipe for deviled eggs that is loved by everyone, perfect for gatherings and family meals.


Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Paprika for garnish

Instructions

  1. Hard boil the eggs by placing them in a pot, covering with water, and bringing to a boil. Once boiling, cover and remove from heat, letting them sit for 12 minutes.
  2. Cool the eggs in ice water, then peel them once cooled.
  3. Slice the eggs in half lengthwise and remove the yolks.
  4. In a bowl, mash the yolks with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, white vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  5. Fill the egg whites with the yolk mixture using a spoon or piping bag.
  6. Sprinkle with paprika for garnish before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add a dash of hot sauce to the yolk mixture.
  • These can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
