- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cups milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp paprika
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the flour, salt, pepper, and paprika until smooth.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, cooking until the mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses until melted.
- Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix well.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
Notes
- For a crispy topping, sprinkle additional cheese or breadcrumbs on top before baking.
- Feel free to add cooked bacon or vegetables for extra flavor.
