Description

Delicious pumpkin-shaped cinnamon rolls topped with creamy frosting, perfect for fall celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Add pumpkin puree, melted butter, egg, and the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients; mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread with butter, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Roll the dough tightly and cut into slices.
  8. Shape each slice into a pumpkin by pinching the top and adding a small piece of dough for the stem.
  9. Place on a baking sheet and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. While baking, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  12. Once rolls are cooled, frost with cream cheese frosting.

  • For a stronger pumpkin flavor, add more pumpkin puree.
  • These rolls can be made ahead and frozen before baking.
