Description

These Red Velvet Santa Hat Cupcakes are a festive and adorable treat perfect for the holiday season.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 cup cream cheese frosting
  • Fresh strawberries (for hats)
  • Whipped cream (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking soda, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, vanilla extract, and vinegar.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Fill the cupcake liners about 2/3 full with the batter.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
  8. Pipe cream cheese frosting on top of each cupcake.
  9. Place a strawberry upside down on top of the frosting to create the Santa hat effect.
  10. Top with a dollop of whipped cream to finish the look.
