Description
A delicious and easy-to-make Rice Cooker Tteokbokki, perfect for Iftar, combining traditional Korean flavors with a modern cooking method.
Ingredients

- 2 cups of rice cakes
- 2 cups of water
- 1 tablespoon of gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
- 1 green onion, chopped
- 1 boiled egg (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the rice cakes under cold water and soak them for 30 minutes.
- In the rice cooker, combine water, gochujang, soy sauce, sugar, and sesame oil.
- Add the soaked rice cakes to the mixture in the rice cooker.
- Close the lid and set the rice cooker to the ‘cook’ setting.
- Cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens and the rice cakes are soft.
- Once done, garnish with chopped green onions and add a boiled egg if desired.
- Serve hot and enjoy your Iftar meal!
Notes
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or less gochujang.
- Feel free to add vegetables like cabbage or fish cakes for extra flavor.
- This dish can be made vegetarian by omitting the egg.
