- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups Guinness beer
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, salt, and pepper.
- Mix well and form into meatballs, placing a small amount of mozzarella cheese in the center of each meatball.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides.
- Remove meatballs and set aside. In the same skillet, add onion and garlic, sautéing until softened.
- Pour in Guinness beer and beef broth, adding Worcestershire sauce, and bring to a simmer.
- Return meatballs to the skillet, cover, and let simmer for 30 minutes.
- Transfer meatballs to a baking dish and pour gravy over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- Serve hot with your choice of sides.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
- These meatballs can be made ahead of time and frozen for later use.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or crusty bread to soak up the gravy.
