Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large sweet potatoes
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

  2. Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into 1/2 inch thick rounds.
  3. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.

  5. Add the sweet potatoes to the pot and stir to coat them in the syrup.
  6. Transfer the sweet potatoes and syrup to a baking dish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sweet potatoes are tender and the syrup is thickened.
