- 4 cups crumbled cornbread
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 teaspoons sage
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 eggs, beaten
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and sauté the onion and celery until soft.
- In a large bowl, combine the crumbled cornbread, sautéed vegetables, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- In a separate bowl, mix the chicken broth and beaten eggs.
- Pour the broth mixture into the cornbread mixture and stir until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider adding cooked sausage or nuts.
- Make sure the cornbread is completely cooled before crumbling.
