Description

A classic Italian-American dish featuring spaghetti served with meatballs in a rich tomato sauce, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into meatballs.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes and oregano to the skillet, simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. Serve meatballs and sauce over spaghetti, garnished with additional parsley and Parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
