Description

A flavorful and unique twist on traditional Thanksgiving dressing, featuring Cajun spices and cornbread.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups cornbread, crumbled
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 1 cup bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, sauté celery, onion, bell pepper, and garlic until softened.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the crumbled cornbread, sautéed vegetables, Cajun seasoning, thyme, black pepper, and parsley.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the chicken broth and beaten eggs.
  5. Pour the broth mixture over the cornbread mixture and stir until well combined.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños.
  • Can be made a day ahead and reheated before serving.
