Description

Ingredients

  • 4 cups crumbled cornbread
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 large eggs, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and celery, and sauté until softened.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the crumbled cornbread, sautéed vegetables, chicken broth, salt, pepper, sage, thyme, and beaten eggs. Mix well.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the dressing is set.
