- 2 cups of chopped pistachios
- 1 cup of melted butter
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of water
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a baking dish with melted butter.
- Layer half of the filo dough in the dish, brushing each layer with melted butter.
- Spread the chopped pistachios evenly over the filo layers.
- Layer the remaining filo dough on top, again brushing each layer with melted butter.
- Cut the baklava into diamond or square shapes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.

- Once the baklava is done, pour the syrup over it while it is still hot.
- Let it cool before serving.
Notes
- Make sure to keep the filo dough covered with a damp cloth to prevent it from drying out.
- You can substitute pistachios with walnuts or almonds if desired.
- Baklava can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
