Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped Turkish delight
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 2 tablespoons rose water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking powder, then gradually add to the wet mixture.
  6. Fold in the chopped Turkish delight.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool completely before icing.
  10. For the icing, mix powdered sugar and rose water until smooth, then spread over the cooled cake.
