- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped Turkish delight
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
- 2 tablespoons rose water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking powder, then gradually add to the wet mixture.
- Fold in the chopped Turkish delight.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely before icing.
- For the icing, mix powdered sugar and rose water until smooth, then spread over the cooled cake.
Notes
- For a more intense flavor, add more rose water to the icing.
- Store the cake in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
- Turkish delight can be substituted with other flavored candies if desired.
