- 1 large head of cabbage
- 1 cup of rice
- 1 pound ground beef or lamb
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 lemon, juiced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil and carefully remove the cabbage leaves.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
- Add ground meat, rice, spices, and cook until meat is browned.
- Place a spoonful of the mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll tightly.
- Arrange the rolls in a baking dish and pour diced tomatoes over them.
- Drizzle with lemon juice and cover with foil.
- Bake for 1 hour, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute ground meat with lentils or mushrooms.
- Serve with yogurt or a side salad for a complete meal.
