- 1 cup semolina
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup water (for syrup)
- 1 cup sugar (for syrup)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (for syrup)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix semolina, sugar, yogurt, vegetable oil, eggs, baking powder, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the syrup by boiling water, sugar, and lemon juice together for about 10 minutes.
- Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and immediately pour the hot syrup over it.
- Let the cake absorb the syrup and cool before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, you can infuse the syrup with a few drops of rose or orange blossom water.
- Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream for extra indulgence.
