- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup crumbled blue cheese
- 3 cups milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp mustard powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
- Add the garlic powder, onion powder, mustard powder, salt, and pepper to the sauce.
- Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar, mozzarella, and blue cheese until melted and smooth.
- Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce and mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with breadcrumbs.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add some cayenne pepper to the cheese sauce.
- Feel free to substitute the cheeses based on your preference.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
