Description

A refreshing and vibrant dessert made with agar agar, yuzu juice, and hibiscus, perfect for a vegan treat.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup yuzu juice
  • 1/4 cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • 1/4 cup sugar (or to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons agar agar powder

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
  2. Add the dried hibiscus flowers and let it steep for about 10 minutes.
  3. Strain the hibiscus tea into a clean saucepan, discarding the flowers.
  4. Add the yuzu juice and sugar to the hibiscus tea, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Sprinkle the agar agar powder over the mixture and bring it to a boil, stirring constantly.
  6. Once boiling, reduce the heat and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the agar agar is fully dissolved.
  7. Pour the mixture into a mold and let it cool at room temperature.
  8. Once set, cut into cubes and serve chilled.

  • Adjust the sweetness according to your preference.
  • For a more intense flavor, increase the amount of yuzu juice.
  • Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
