Amish Poor Man’s Steak is a budget-friendly comfort food that offers a hearty and satisfying meal without breaking the bank.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Form the mixture into patties.
  4. In a skillet, brown the patties on both sides over medium heat.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup and beef broth.
  6. Place the browned patties in a baking dish and pour the soup mixture over them.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  9. Serve hot with your choice of sides.
