- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for glaze)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, buttermilk, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and egg.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Fill the donut pan with the batter and bake for 12-15 minutes.
- While the donuts are baking, prepare the glaze by browning the butter in a saucepan, then mixing in powdered sugar and maple syrup.
- Once the donuts are cool, dip them in the glaze and let set.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- For a spicier flavor, add a pinch of ground ginger to the batter.
- These donuts can be frozen for up to a month.
