Description

BBQ Hot Links with Quick-Pickled Onions is a delicious and flavorful dish that combines spicy sausage with tangy pickled onions, perfect for any BBQ gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb BBQ hot links
  • 1 medium red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine apple cider vinegar, water, sugar, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir until sugar and salt are dissolved.
  2. Add the sliced red onion to the mixture and let it sit for at least 30 minutes to pickle.
  3. While the onions are pickling, grill the BBQ hot links over medium heat until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks.
  4. Once the hot links are done, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
  5. Serve the hot links topped with the quick-pickled onions.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add garlic or herbs to the pickling mixture.
  • These pickled onions can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
