- 1 lb BBQ hot links
- 1 medium red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine apple cider vinegar, water, sugar, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir until sugar and salt are dissolved.
- Add the sliced red onion to the mixture and let it sit for at least 30 minutes to pickle.
- While the onions are pickling, grill the BBQ hot links over medium heat until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks.
- Once the hot links are done, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the hot links topped with the quick-pickled onions.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add garlic or herbs to the pickling mixture.
