Description

A delicious and tangy Carolina pulled pork sandwich topped with a flavorful vinegar sauce, perfect for BBQ lovers.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 lbs pork shoulder
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 8 hamburger buns
  • Coleslaw (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the apple cider vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and salt to create the vinegar sauce.
  3. Place the pork shoulder in a roasting pan and pour half of the vinegar sauce over it.
  4. Cover the pan with foil and roast in the oven for about 4-5 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
  5. Remove the pork from the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes before shredding it with two forks.
  6. Mix the shredded pork with the remaining vinegar sauce.
  7. Serve the pulled pork on hamburger buns and top with coleslaw if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier sauce, add more red pepper flakes.
  • This dish can be made in a slow cooker for convenience.
  • Leftover pulled pork can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
