- 500g bread flour
- 100g sourdough starter
- 350ml warm water
- 10g salt
- 2 tsp chai spice mix
- 50g sugar
- 50ml milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the bread flour, sugar, and chai spice mix.
- Add the sourdough starter and warm water, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for 4-6 hours or until doubled in size.
- Shape the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough and spread the milk and vanilla extract mixture over it.
- Roll the dough into a log and twist it to create swirls.
- Place the shaped dough in a loaf pan and let it rise for another 2 hours.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (428°F) for 30-35 minutes.
- Let the bread cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a stronger chai flavor, increase the amount of chai spice mix.
- Ensure your sourdough starter is active before using.
