Ingredients

  • 500g bread flour
  • 100g sourdough starter
  • 350ml warm water
  • 10g salt
  • 2 tsp chai spice mix
  • 50g sugar
  • 50ml milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the bread flour, sugar, and chai spice mix.
  2. Add the sourdough starter and warm water, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 4-6 hours or until doubled in size.
  5. Shape the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Roll out the dough and spread the milk and vanilla extract mixture over it.
  7. Roll the dough into a log and twist it to create swirls.
  8. Place the shaped dough in a loaf pan and let it rise for another 2 hours.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (428°F) for 30-35 minutes.
  10. Let the bread cool before slicing and serving.
