Description

A healthier version of the classic General Tso’s Chicken, perfect for a quick and delicious meal at home.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breast, diced
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, coat the diced chicken with cornstarch.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Pour the sauce over the chicken and stir to coat.
  6. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Serve over cooked rice and garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
  • Can substitute chicken with tofu for a vegetarian option.
  • Serve with steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
