Description

Delicious and festive sugar cookies shaped like graduation caps, perfect for celebrating graduates.


Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Black fondant or black icing for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
  6. Roll the dough into balls and flatten them slightly.
  7. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven.
  8. Let cookies cool on wire racks.
  9. Once cooled, decorate with black fondant or icing to resemble graduation caps.

  • For a more festive touch, use colored icing for the tassels.
