A delicious and easy recipe for grilled sausage and peppers hoagies, perfect for your Labor Day cookout.

- 4 Italian sausages
- 2 bell peppers (red and green), sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hoagie rolls
- Mustard or your favorite condiments (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced bell peppers and onion with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Place the sausages on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until fully cooked.
- In the last 5 minutes of cooking, add the peppers and onions to the grill in a grill basket or on a piece of foil.
- Once the sausages are cooked, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Slice the hoagie rolls and place a sausage in each roll, topped with grilled peppers and onions.
- Add mustard or any other condiments if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Feel free to use different types of sausages for varied flavors.
- For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños to the peppers.
- This recipe can easily be doubled for larger gatherings.
