Description

A nourishing and restorative bone broth recipe designed to support gut health and overall wellness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds of beef bones
  • 1 pound of chicken bones
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 4 cloves of garlic, smashed
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • Water (enough to cover the bones)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place the beef bones on a baking sheet and roast for 30 minutes.
  3. In a large pot, combine the roasted bones, chicken bones, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, apple cider vinegar, salt, and peppercorns.
  4. Cover the ingredients with water, leaving some space at the top.
  5. Bring the pot to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
  6. Simmer for at least 12 hours, preferably 24 hours, adding water as needed to keep the bones submerged.
  7. Strain the broth through a fine mesh sieve into a large bowl.
  8. Let it cool, then store in jars or containers in the refrigerator or freezer.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can add herbs like thyme or bay leaves.
  • Bone broth can be consumed on its own or used as a base for soups and stews.
  • Make sure to use high-quality, grass-fed bones for the best health benefits.
