Ingredients

- 2 pounds of beef bones
- 1 pound of chicken bones
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 onion, quartered
- 4 cloves of garlic, smashed
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
- Water (enough to cover the bones)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the beef bones on a baking sheet and roast for 30 minutes.
- In a large pot, combine the roasted bones, chicken bones, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, apple cider vinegar, salt, and peppercorns.
- Cover the ingredients with water, leaving some space at the top.
- Bring the pot to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
- Simmer for at least 12 hours, preferably 24 hours, adding water as needed to keep the bones submerged.
- Strain the broth through a fine mesh sieve into a large bowl.
- Let it cool, then store in jars or containers in the refrigerator or freezer.

- For a richer flavor, you can add herbs like thyme or bay leaves.
- Bone broth can be consumed on its own or used as a base for soups and stews.
