Description

A simple and flavorful recipe for making bone broth using an Instant Pot, allowing you to set it and forget it while it cooks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 23 pounds of bones (beef, chicken, or pork)
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic, smashed
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • Water (enough to cover the bones)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the bones in the Instant Pot.
  2. Add the onion, carrots, celery, garlic, and apple cider vinegar.
  3. Fill the pot with water until the bones are covered.
  4. Seal the Instant Pot lid and set it to high pressure for 120 minutes.
  5. Once the cooking time is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally.
  6. Strain the broth through a fine mesh sieve into a large bowl.
  7. Let it cool, then store in jars or containers in the fridge or freezer.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, roast the bones in the oven before adding them to the Instant Pot.
  • Bone broth can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week or frozen for several months.
  • Feel free to add herbs like thyme or bay leaves for additional flavor.
