Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, butter, sugar, and salt to form a dough.
- Press the dough into the bottom of a greased 9×9 inch baking pan.
- Bake the crust for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
- In another bowl, whisk together brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- Stir in the chopped pecans.
- Pour the pecan mixture over the baked crust.
- Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until set.
- Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.
- For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar.
- These squares can be served warm or chilled.
