- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon mirin (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Instructions
- Bring a pot of water to a boil.
- Gently add the eggs and boil for 6-7 minutes for a jammy yolk.
- While the eggs are boiling, mix soy sauce, water, mirin, and sugar in a bowl.
- Once the eggs are done, transfer them to an ice bath to cool for a few minutes.
- Peel the eggs and place them in the soy sauce mixture.
- Let the eggs marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight for more flavor.
- Serve the eggs sliced in half, drizzled with the marinade.
